The 22nd annual USPSA Florida Open concluded with a clear winner.
The pistol shooting championship is held in Frostproof, Florida each year. People come from all over the world to prove exactly who is the best out of the 400-plus shooters that take part.
This year, Team GLOCK proved that they have some serious shooting chops. They were practically impossible to beat in many different categories. So, who are the fab three that make up Team GLOCK? Let’s check them out!
Team GLOCK is comprised of team captain Shane Coley, Ashley Rheuark, and Michelle Viscusi.
Coley won High Overall in the Limited Division. His weapon of choice was his GLOCK 24. Heis a highly experienced shooter and former US Army member. He began shooting at the tender age of 14 because his father, Rock Coley, was a police officer for 31 years. As a dad, he was able to share his love and skill of shooting with his son, and Shane took to it like a duck on water. He has competed at a national and international level with three national titles, a few World Championship titles, and many regional and state level accomplishments. It’s clear why Team GLOCK picked Shane to lead the trio as captain.
Ruheuark also did very well in the 2020 Florida Open. She won the High Lady in Carry Optics Division using her GLOCK 17. This is her third year on the team, and it’s clear that she has a bright shooting future ahead of her. Her shooting career started when she went hunting with her dad at 10-years-old. The natural skill she demonstrated made it clear that she had a future in competitive shooting. She won the IDPA Lady World Champion, and is the first female IDPA Distinguished Master. Those are just a couple of her noted awards.
Last but certainly not least is team member Michelle Viscusi, an experienced shooter who began later than most at the age of 21 with competitive shooting. She is also a member of the Army National Guard. One of the best showcases of her competition skills is when she was on the show Top Shot on the History Channel. With many titles and accolades to her credit, it’s clear that when Michelle shows up to a competition, she’s going to walk away a winner. For the Florida Open, she competed with the GLOCK 35, and took home the High Lady title in Limited Division.
The next time you can see Team Glock compete is at the upcoming USPSA Area 6 Championship in Florida. This is just one of eight competitions you can see Team GLOCK compete in this year. It’s clear they are all going to come away from these competitions as big winners with skills and techniques that are hard to beat.
