It’s no secret that the United States’ “The People’s Convoy” will show up in Washington, DC, on March 1, 2022.
It’s also no secret that liberal elites are absolutely terrified of having working-class Americans show up en masse to protest its COVID-19 mandates and restrictions and rising fuel prices.
The government is already working to erect the same metallic fence that surrounded Federal government buildings in the aftermath of January 6, 2021.
What’s more, the city’s police department has started mobilizing hundreds of officers into Civil Disturbance Units in order to prepare for the arrival of the protesters.
Local law enforcement officials are also asking the National Guard to provide support, and the Guard is already creating strategic roadblocks to prevent truckers from entering certain parts of the city.
Washington, DC officials are also trying to secure enough tow truck drivers to remove truckers should the need arise, but they have not been successful.
At the same time, there is one aspect of preparation for the upcoming protest that the government isn’t talking about, and that is the possibility that President Joe Biden could use the Freedom Convoy as a pretext to declare martial law.
Those who think the notion is absurd would do well to remember that martial law has been declared in the United States at various points throughout its history, with one of the most recent instances occurring to block peaceful protesters in the state of Alabama in the mid-1950s.
What’s more, President Biden spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau right before PM Trudeau declared Canada’s equivalent of martial law in his own country, and it appears that President Biden urged the Canadian PM to take this course of action in order to clear protesting truckers who were blocking a main international bridge between the United States and Canada.
One only has to look at Canada to get a glimpse into what martial law would look like in the United States.
In Canada, anyone who donated even a small amount of money to the convoy can have their bank accounts confiscated.
Truckers are being arrested, their personal and corporate accounts are seized, and the government has threatened to take away their pets as well.
Truckers also face the loss of insurance and business licenses, which means they would not be able to work even if they aren’t charged with a crime.
That may not matter in any case as Ottawa’s Mayor Jim Watson has publicly stated that he wants to sell off truckers’ vehicles in order to “recoup the costs” of forcibly and violently removing them from the city’s streets.
Horsemen violently knocked over an elderly woman and her walker and leaked footage shows Canada’s law enforcement officials celebrating their acts of violence against those who dared to disagree with their government’s talking points.
One woman who played a key role in organizing the protest was recently arrested, has been denied bail, and could face up to ten years in prison for “mischief”.
Only time will tell if President Biden will declare martial law in order to deal with Freedom Convey protesters, but the fact is that it could very well happen.
The president isn’t “mentally robust” and he could be easily pressured by aides and fellow Democrats to make the move.
What’s more, a chilling recent poll found that nearly two out of three Democrats approve of Canada’s tyrannical treatment of protesters; should President Biden follow in Canada’s footsteps, it could actually benefit him politically at a time when his support is at a record low.
Those who are concerned about basic freedoms and rights in what is meant to be a “free” nation would do well to keep tabs on developments related to the freedom convoy and government indications of how it would handle the protests.
At the same time, even those who think martial law would be justified would be unwise to ignore the situation, as jailing thousands of truckers in the United States and Canada at a time when there is already a shortage of truckers, shortage of goods, and record inflation isn’t going to end well for anyone.
