The war-hawks are circling and the biggest buzzard, Republican US Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, continues to squawk in favor of carnage.
Sen. Graham recently called for Russian President Vladimir Putin to be detained and assassinated, blasted Joe Biden for not sending fighter jets into Poland because he feared it would only escalate tensions in the region, potentially into a world nuclear war.
Senator Graham said during an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News, that if Russia used chemical weapons against Ukraine, then he would support a no-fly zone over Ukraine. Graham said that the Biden administration were “folding up like a cheap suit,” by not sending Polish owned fighter jets into Ukraine.
“The Biden administration stopped that transfer. One minute they’re saying, ‘well they’re not using the planes we have but if we give them more it would be WWIII’,” Graham said. “What happened is Putin threatened Biden, and he folded like a cheap suit. Give them the planes.”
Graham also said US Vice President Kamala Harris’ speech in Poland, regarding Washington’s diplomatic stance with NATO’s eastern allies was “not an adequate substitute of MiGs going into the Ukraine to help the Ukrainians defend themselves.”
“I’m all in. I don’t want no boots on the ground, no-fly zone yet,” he stressed, before adding, however, that “if there are chemical weapons used by Putin, that’s a war crime, and then I support a no-fly zone.” Graham said.
The Kremlin has already warned that such a move would be seen as an act of war, but despite this warning, Graham still thinks it’s a good idea and dismissed fears that a move like this would trigger World War Three.
Graham called the threat Putin made about using Russia’s nuclear capabilities a “bluff”, adding that Putin should be taken out however possible, and that includes assassination.
”It’s not going to be WWIII. This is all a bluff. Putin knows that no one wins a nuclear exchange,” he said. “If he ordered a preemptive strike on the United States, some general would shoot him in the head.”
President Vladimir Putin has warned that any attempts to enforce a no-fly zone by any planes or military assets, would be treated immediately as a target.
Graham doubled down on his comments when people called his comments inflammatory as the US Department of Defense has already stated that they had seen no indication that Russia was planning to attack using chemical or biological weapons.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, had claimed earlier that Russia could be considering a chemical attack.
US Defense Department spokesperson John Kirby told an ABC broadcaster:
“Well, I want to be careful. We don’t get into intelligence assessments here. We continue to watch this very, very closely. It is of the Russian playbook … they accuse you of [what] they’re planning to do now. Again, we haven’t seen anything to indicate some sort of imminent chemical, chemical biological attack right now, but we’re watching this very, very closely,”
What Graham needs to do, is turn down the heat on his rhetoric, and stop being a neocon pawn for the war-mongering deep state.
