Joy Reid Says if NRA Had Its Way, MD Shooter Would Have Used an AR-15

Despite being a so-called professional working for MSNBC, correspondent Joy Reid has made extremely delusional remarks in the past, saying, for example, that the media is Republican-leaning.

After the government shutdown over DACA this year, she also tweeted that the Democrats won. We’re still not sure what she meant, as it is well-known the Democrats caused the shutdown — caring more about illegal immigrants than American citizens.

Well, she’s at it again.

This Tuesday, March 20th, Reid Tweeted made an extremely off-putting remark in a tweet: “if the @NRA had its way, that student who shot two people at his Maryland school would have had access to an AR-15, not just a handgun.”

This reaction appears to be referring to the National Rifle Association’s stance that 18 to 20-year olds have constitutional rights to own and operate firearms. Those like Reid would like to see the age for long gun purchases be raised from 18 to 21. Of course, it’s definitely worth noting that the age of the shooter was 17.

Furthermore, the NRA has never made a statement or even insinuated that it would support someone shooting up a school with any type of gun, let alone an AR-15. Still, accusations like Reid’s against the NRA are common. Student-turned-media-favorite David Hogg was recently filmed saying that the NRA are “pathetic f***ers that want to keep killing our children.”

It’s worth noting that, under federal law as well as under Maryland state law, handgun purchases by those under the age of 21 are prohibited. Those who want to purchase handguns in Maryland and are over 21 also need to pay and apply for a handgun license, go through training, and endure a waiting period of 1 full week before they can receive their gun.

The fact of the matter is that the liberal media is doing everything it can to pretend that the Maryland shooting was anything other than what it actually was — proof that bad guys with guns are stopped with good guys with guns.

Two students were shot at Great Mills High School in Great Hills, Maryland on March 20th. The shooter was Austin Wyatt Rollins, 17. Apparently, Rollins had taken his father’s legally-owned gun and brought it to his high school in order to shoot his ex-girlfriend Jaelynn Willey as well as another student.

Willey was shot as was another 14-year-old male student. Willey is still in critical condition while the young man who was shot was released after being treated for his wounds.

Fortunately, someone on the scene at the school had a gun. St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Deputy Blaine Gaskill, a school resource officer who had been assigned to the school in 2017, was armed and took quick action to shoot the young man, who was killed on the scene.

Unlike the tragic event in Parkland, the recent shooting saw a law enforcement officer actually doing his job. Well done to St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Deputy Blaine Gaskill, and shame on Joy Reid for purposely misunderstanding and disseminating lies about the NRA and gun laws in this country.
