Sig Sauer won big this year at the annual Industry Choice Awards 2020.
The event, which was held virtually on July 28th, was sponsored by Oneida Molded Plastics. Awards are given out each year to gun manufacturers across eight different firearm products and accessory categories. It’s common that Sig Sauer walks away with quite a few of these awards each year since their innovation and leading status in the industry is well known.
The Categories
The awards are judged by a panel of experts in the industry that includes competition shooters, law enforcement, trainers, and retail brands. They are looking at overall form and functionality that makes each item stand out from their competitors. There is also a special Innovation of the Year award that was recently named after Frank Desomma, the Patriot Ordnance Factory founder who recently passed away in June after a horrific car accident.
The categories for the awards are the following:
- Rifle
- AK Rifle
- Pistol Caliber Carbine
- Handgun
- Concealed Carry Pistol
- Optic
- Accessory
- Premium Accessory
Sig Sauer Comes Out on Top
Sig walked away with the 2020 Frank Desomma Innovation of the Year Choice Award for their Sig Sauer Cross Bolt-Action Rifle. This is a magnificent piece of weaponry that features a stainless-steel barrel that is free-floating with a one-piece aluminum receiver. An extremely accurate gun, this is the one that you are going to walk to take on a backcountry hunting trip. When it’s folded up the gun measures only 25” long. Plus, it can be modified in a number of custom ways including night vision, bipods, and optics.
Sig Sauer also took home the Handgun of the Year Choice Award for the P320 XFive Legion. This is a 9mm with tungsten grip and comes with three 17-round magazines. The judges loved its “ease of use, and the ability to place accurate shots quickly.” Sig considered it a huge game-changer for the competitive pistol shooter because the recoil is reduced, and the gun has unprecedented accuracy.

Some of the other winners in accessories include Lead Star Ravage Magazine Release Extended for Accessory of the Year, Innovative Targets Tee Post Bandit for Premium Accessory of the Year, and the Nightforce C634 for Optics of the Year.

Congratulations to all the winners in each category this year. Their innovation is going to lead and inspire many generations of firearms and accessories to come.
