It’s common knowledge that China has long claimed Taiwan as part of its own nation.
In fact, the Chinese are just as averse to interference on the self-governed island as Russia was to the United States’ continual interference in Ukraine. Furthermore, it’s also common knowledge that China, like Russia, has plenty of nuclear weapons and a powerful army.
The United States can hardly manage the blowback from its involvement in the Ukraine conflict as the price of gas, fertilizer and other important commodities rise throughout the nation. Now, it appears, the United States wants to start a war on another front, this time with China.
In a statement that is sure to anger Beijing, Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen has announced that the United States National Guard will be “proactively cooperating” with Taiwan’s military. The announcement came as Democrat Senator Tammy Duckworth visited Taiwan to push for greater provision of armaments and military support to the island.
Committing the United States’ National Guard to a partnership with Taiwan is almost certain to anger China, perhaps past the point of no return. It comes in the walk of President Joe Biden casually stating that he would send American soldiers to Taiwan if China were to invade the island.
China, for its part, stepped up military drills around the island and warned the United States that its soldiers would either be sent home in coffins or become fish food at the bottom of the ocean. The Biden Administration quickly walked back the President’s comments yet again, stating that America’s relationship with Taiwan hasn’t changed.
However, President Tsai’s comments and legislation currently pending in the Senate make it clear that Democrat warmongers aren’t content with having wreaked havoc in Ukraine. Sen. Duckworth’s Strengthen Taiwan’s Security Act would boost support for Taiwan, permitting the United States President to send military aid to the island without congressional approval.
The bill would also ensure that the United States could immediately deliver “lethal aid” to Taiwan as soon as an attack takes place, improve Taiwan’s intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities, and look for ways to pre-position stock near Taiwan to ensure the island nation could access immediate help in the event of an invasion.
Starting a war with China while engaged in a proxy war with Russia would devastate the United States economy. Some foolhardy individuals think the United States military is powerful enough to handle combat with both nations but in-depth research shows otherwise.
Experts agree that the United States wouldn’t stand a chance if Russia and China combined their cyber-warfare capabilities to target the nation, a scenario that would almost certainly play out if China felt threatened by America’s growing involvement in what it perceives to be a domestic matter. As Nicolas Chaillan, the United States’ Air Forces’ former chief software officer, recently explained, critical infrastructure such as power and sewer systems are especially vulnerable.
What’s more, the United States imports billions of dollars of food from China every year. Inflation is already pushing food prices up but prices would go through the roof if even more food was removed from America’s food market.
The Biden Administration’s handling of the Ukraine conflict has been abysmal. It has spurred inflation at home while at the same time completely failing to stop conflict and bloodshed in the region. As if that wasn’t enough, the President and his warmongering acolytes now seem to be looking for ways to expand the conflict to China by increasing military involvement in Taiwan.
China, thankfully, has not threatened to use its nuclear weapons in the same way that Russia has, but it can easily provide additional aid to Russia to help it win its current war with Ukraine while at the same time halting exports that the United States rely on to maintain its high standard of living.
One can only hope that cooler heads will prevail and that someone in the President’s administration will realize that the United States is creeping far too close to World War 3 and the untold devastation that would unleash on the world.
