FN America Is About To Make Machine Guns for the US Army

FN America has been awarded a contract to manufacture the M240 series of machine guns and supporting parts for the U.S. Army. The firearms will also be provided to other programs for the U.S. Department of Defense.

“We’re incredibly honored to continue our relationship with the Army, supporting them with the high quality and reliable weapons systems for our servicemen and women,” FN America CEO Mark Cherpes said of the contract.

The M240 machine guns are made in United States in a FN America facility in South Carolina. The general, all-purpose machine gun that has been used by the Army since the 1970s. 

The contract includes getting the Army different variations of the M240 including five other models. FN America considers themselves a great provider of “the world’s most battle-proven firearms.” Their advanced weapons are developed with years of dedication and knowledge by their exceptional staff. With headquarters in McLean, Virginia and a factory in Columbia, South Carolina, the company says it is well-equipped to handle anything the Army needs from them. 

Besides the M240, FN America makes a variety of pistols, rifles, and shotguns, along with ammunition for law enforcement and military use. The company sells to the public as well in commercial sales with an excellent online store to shop from. 

The parent company of FN America is FN Herstal, which was created in Belgium in 1889. They also own the U.S. Repeating Arms Company as well as Winchester and the Browning Arms Company.
