Why You Need a Concealed Belt vs. a Regular Belt

Are you holstering your gun from a regular belt? That’s a mistake you don’t want to make. You need a concealed carry belt, or what’s basically just called a “gun belt” for a few different reasons.

Let’s look into what those reasons are, because it’s important to be prepared when you make the commitment to conceal carry your weapon each day.

Regular Belts Can Sag

A basic department store belt isn’t made of the same sturdy construction as a gun belt. The goal of a “purpose carry belt,” gun belt, or CCW belt is to hold your weapon in the same position. An ordinary belt tends to sag, which isn’t safe or comfortable. If you are constantly reaching to adjust your regular belt, it may also be exposing your weapon. You definitely don’t want that to happen.

Plus, when your regular belt sags it can get caugh on certain things around you. This is especially bad when you are getting in your car, and your gun catches on your seatbelt.

The type of gun belt you buy is up to you. Most of the material is sturdy leather or nylon. You ideally want it to be made of high quality material so that it lasts a long time. This isn’t a piece of equipment you should have to buy often. A great one will hold up to years of use and wear. Having a few in your wardrobe will keep you safe and comfortable each day when you conceal carry your weapon.

Invest in a Proper Concealed Carry Belt

There are many types of gun belts you can buy that look like a regular belt. You don’t have to go with a tactical style belt if that’s not what you want to wear. One company to look at is Relentless Tactical. They make a variety of gun belts, holsters, and other accessories that will make concealed carry a breeze. All of their belts are made with high quality leather and come from a place right in the USA. Expect to pay around $60-$120 for a proper belt, but they do offer sales from time to time.

Another company that makes great concealed carry belts is Crossbreed Holsters. They come in all different materials from nylon to leather and retail from $17-$100.

What About the Ladies?

Many of these belt companies don’t specifically make belts for women, but there’s a perfect company that does. It’s called Klik Belts. They have an extensive collection of belts geared towards women with a variety of nylon belts in all different colors that run for around $60 on average.

If you aren’t carrying your firearm correctly, isn’t it time to invest in the proper CCW belt? It’s definitely the right idea.
