WATCH: Can a Bullet Set a Gas Pump on Fire?

Cheesy action movies from the 80s, 90s, and into today are replete with scenes where things explode that shouldn’t.

And to be clear: we’re not exactly complaining about this. What other reason is there to watch movies like Rambo, The Terminator, or James Bond if half the props in the film aren’t going down in a fiery blaze? Let’s face it — we’re all getting what we’re paying for with films like those.

The issue is that movies like John Wick, while endlessly entertaining, often distort our view of reality. This is why many people who have never held a firearm in their lives actually believe that a suppressed handgun actually sounds like a silent laser beam or something. Gun owners know that’s not even close to being the case.

So, we know it’s all ridiculous, but people who have a bit more of a negative opinion about firearms tend to believe the cinematic non-sense.

Today, we’re going to look at another popular myth being busted in real time — by none other than Demolition Ranch, a channel that specializes in seeing if things explode or not.

Even some of our readers may believe that gas pumps would explode when hit with a bullet. As it turns out, it takes a lot of work just to get the devices to show smoke.

All of this said, this is where we have to tell you to not try this at home, because this is definitely not safe.
