In terms of self defense, firearms are the ultimate equalizer. Whether you are a 250-pound powerlifter or a 120-pound office worker, a gun will stop anyone from harming you. In fact, hundreds of people are able to save their own lives or the lives of others by having a firearm handy.
With all that in mind, there’s a growing trend among women to arm themselves, and their weapons of choice may surprise you.
Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm
Ranking at the top of many popularity boards, this 9mm hand-cannon packs semi-automatic double action punch with 9-round capacity. The trigger enjoys a relatively easy 6.5-pound pull. The barrel length tops out at 3.1 inches and the entire weapon weighs only 19 ounces. It’s a lightweight firearm that women can carry in a reasonably secure purse or holster without feeling anchored. But at the end of the day, this 9mm S&W will halt any attacker in their tracks.
Glock 43 – 9mm
