Sig Sauer Has Two New Coffee Table Books Out

Are you a huge fan of everything Sig Sauer has to offer? As one of the best firearms design and manufacturing companies since 1976, many people treasure their Sig collection above all others. If you are die-hard about them, or someone you know is, then you’re going to want to grab their latest offering — a two-volume coffee table book collection. You’ll love to leaf through these books that are truly works of art. And if you know someone who is a book and gun lover, this is a gift they will treasure.

Vickers Guide Created the Books

Vickers Guide published the Sig Sauer books, but they have an extensive collection of hardbound copies of others that feature different styles of weapons. Some of those are the AK Kalashnikov, the AR-15, and one that showcases the guns of WWII Germany.

Any of these would be fun and interesting to look through again and again to learn about the history and importance of these firearms. Larry Vickers, the founder, is a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army Special Operations, so you can rest assure that this guy knows his stuff. All the detailed photography was done by James Rupley — an avid hunter.

The book itself is mammoth with a staggering 406 pages featuring contributions by shooting sports professionals, law enforcement, and military personnel. The best part about the book is the inside look into the private and rare collections people have all around the world. It’s the kind of stuff you’d only see in museums, like the Sig Museum in Switzerland, laid out to look at in this glossy and stylish book.

Volume 1 of the Sig Sauer Book

Only the first volume of the Sig Sauer book is out right now. It features over 95 pistols, a global array of machine guns including a first edition early SIG submachine gun, the Modell 1930, the X-Series pistols, and how the P320 was created. That’s the weapon of choice, now called the M17, of the U.S. military.

The book goes over the history of how Sig Sauer started as a Swiss and German company in 1976 that now makes the majority of their weapons in America.

Volume 2 Will Be Released in 2021

The next volume is going to come out sometime in 2021. That one will detail more about rifles and machine guns that Sig has produced over the years. You can purchase both of these books on the Sig Sauer website. You can purchase the “signature” version signed by the author.

Books may seem kind of old school when everyone is looking at their smartphones all the time, but there is truly something magical about spending a few hours thumbing through a piece of Sig Sauer history.
