Julie Golob can definitely outshoot you. She can probably outshoot your grandpa, most law enforcement, and basically anyone you know in real life.
Julie Golob is a modern day warrior woman with a history of shooting excellence, and that’s just the start of how accomplished she is with her considerable skills. Getting to the bottom of Julie’s skills leads to the fact that she is an IPSC Ladies World Champion.
As a world and national shooting champion, her skills are top-notch. Let’s learn a little bit more about what makes Julie one of the absolute best professional shooters out there on the competition circuit today.
A History of Greatness
Not only did Julie serve in the United States Army, but she grew up shooting from an early age. Her dad took an interest in teaching Julie everything he knew about hunting and shooting, taking her out with him on many weekend adventures to the shooting range and on various hunting trips. By the time she was 14-years-old, Julie was a good enough shot to compete in her first competition. That led her to make a name for herself on the junior circuit before she really started racking up the awards.
In 1994 she managed to secure a position to compete at the United States Practical Shooting Associations (USPSA) National Championships. Many awards and accolades followed before she entered the Army. While in the Army, she was named the US Army Female Athlete of the Year. That was a huge deal, because that specific award had never gone to a competitive shooter before.
Record After Record Broken
The record books in shooting sports has many lines with Julie’s name on it. In fact she is the first shooter in history to win national recognition in all six divisions of the USPSA. When you look at the list of awards she’s won, it totals over 50 world and national titles combined. It’s so impressive that her skills have taken her so far in life.
An Activist, Author, and Mom
Julie is routinely outspoken in her support of the Second Amendment, is a published author, and has appeared on many different firearm shows, like the History Channel’s “Top Shot” and “Top Guns.”
But one of the aspects of her life that she’s most proud of is being a wife and mother. It’s really inspiring to see that a woman like Julie has the chops and skills to make a name for herself in the shooting world, but also manages to be a great role model as a mom.
