NRA Prepares for Personal Protection Expo in September

The NRA Personal Protection Expo is coming up very soon on September 6-8th in Fort Worth, Texas at the Convention Center there.

If you haven’t been to this expo before, it’s jammed packed full of seminars, demonstrations, exhibits, and networking all geared towards personal protection. It’s mainly all about home defense and concealed carry. Let’s look at the details of what this expo sponsored by the NRA is about.

Seminars by Industry Leaders

There are over 120 seminars by different people in the industry who want to make your life safer. Some of the sessions are only an hour long, while others are more of a workshop format that will last longer. Topics that will be covered are certification courses and hands on training.

There is a different schedule for each of the three days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. For example, on Friday you can take a class that focuses on the Sig Sauer P320 pistol to get certification. It will tell you all about the mechanical function of the firearm, how to maintain it properly, and even troubleshooting tips. You’ll feel very confident owning this firearm after you take this instructional class.

The Fort Worth Convention Center is a Huge Exhibit Hall

The exhibit hall is enormous. They even have a live firing range and interactive shooting area. If you are game to see just about every accessory and innovation in firearms available by big brands today, you’re going to love touring around this giant exhibition. Smith & Wesson, Rugar, Winchester, and American Rebel will all be there. That’s just to name a few of the big names in the industry. There is even an official NRA Store that the organization has on site where you can buy all kinds of proud NRA gear.

The Concealed Carry Fashion Show and Other Fun

Want to see the latest in concealed carry fashion? This show is a highlight of the event. It’s fun and informative, but also showcases concealed carry items for both men and women.

Another fun part of the event is the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu demonstration by MMA fighter Frank Mir. He is a future hall of famer in the sport, and will teach self defense techniques in a two-hour session on Saturday.

Ticket Prices and Discounts for NRA Members

There are many hotels in the Fort Worth area nearby that are giving discounts to NRA members that want to attend the show. Even if you aren’t a member of the NRA, the event is open to the public. You can also purchase tickets for the event on their website or at the expo. It costs about $30 per day for general admission. They do give a discount for NRA members and if you sign up for an NRA membership there, you’ll get in for free.

So if you live in the Texas area and want to attend this year, it’s not too late to make your plans. Otherwise, there’s always next year to attend the NRA Personal Protection Expo.
