Law-Abiding Americans Need the Second Amendment More Than Ever

As violent liberals took to the streets burning, looting, and attacking police officers, everyday Americans thank God and the Founding Fathers for the Second Amendment. Without the right to bear arms and defend yourself, rioters emboldened by far-left politicians would threaten the safety and security of hard-working families.

As the COVID-19 pandemic surged, Democrat governors attempted to implement unconstitutional lockdowns. In Michigan, legally-armed protestors made Gov. Gretchen Whitmer acutely aware patriots would not sit idle and allow her dictator-like mandates to prevail. The Founding Father wisely included the Second Amendment among the inalienable rights because then, like now, power-mongering forces threatened life and liberty.

With fears about the breakdown of society due to the pandemic and politicians implementing Draconian crackdowns, lawful firearm sales in March set new records. According to reports, the federal government conducted 3.7 million background checks. April and May firearm sales reports also point to millions of law-abiding citizens exercising their Second Amendment right to protect themselves and their loved ones.

“The early part of 2020 has been unlike any other year for firearm purchases — particularly by first-time buyers — as new NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation) research reveals millions of people chose to purchase their first gun during the COVID-19 pandemic,” a Foundation official stated.

Conservative media outlets such as Fox News indicate many first-time firearm owners had heightened concerns about personal protection. Those new gun owners may be counting their blessings in the wake of the national violence that erupted after Minnesota police officers reportedly caused the death of George Floyd.

Violent domestic terror outfits such as Antifa have reportedly hijacked many Black Lives Matter peaceful protests. They are engaged in looting, arson, and targeting police with bricks, bottles, knives, guns, and other weapons. In New York City, St. Louis, Alabama, Minneapolis, Missouri, and other areas, police officers have been fired upon and killed in the line of duty. When law and order falters, it’s up to gun owners to defend themselves and their neighbors.

“It’s about damned time some heavily armed rednecks stood with fellow citizens,” one Minneapolis citizen reportedly said while helping to defend a minority-owned business. “These guys are out here with machetes and shattered windows trying to keep looters out of their business because cops can’t get in here. And so, you know, I figure, before there were cops there were just Americans. So, here we are.”

These are precisely the type of community-minded patriots left-wing radical try to paint as “alt-right” extremists. That strategy is designed to provoke fear and diminish their right to bear arms, protect themselves, and defend the safety and property of neighbors and businesses.

The U.S. Supreme Court has put controversial cases on its current docket in which Democrat-run state laws substantially limited Second Amendment rights. With the conservative majority intact thanks to recently appointed justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, constitutional rights are expected to prevail.

With the possibility of another virus uptick and blood being spilled in the streets, Americans need the Second Amendment now more than ever.
