Facebook is Trying to Skew Public Opinion on Firearms

We all know that Facebook is legendary for suppressing facts that don’t agree with their liberal agenda, but did you know that Second Amendment gun rights may be taking the heat due to Facebook’s skewed algorithms?

Recent scandals quickly demonstrate exactly how Facebook is presenting only one side of the story — and actively censoring more conservative views. However, Facebook is not the only one to blame. Fake news bots are steadily harming the American public’s view of the truth by spewing hate towards one side of the political spectrum or the other . . . and sometimes even on both sides at the same time.

However, Facebook’s recent blocking of Oregon’s No Compromise Gun Rights Organization OFF shows clearly where Facebook’s loyalties lie.

After a nine-country study of how propaganda and misinformation is spread, social media is found to be a primary source that’s often used to manipulate public opinion on polarizing topics. These tidbits of terror are often created by bots that are active in countries such as Russia, Taiwan and mainland China where hackers are interested in putting forth a specific viewpoint for money.

These “fake news” powerhouses use automated accounts to game the algorithms and overwhelm your news feed with information that is implausible at best. It’s entirely probable that American liberal outlets are working closely with these shady characters to ensure that the truth is hidden beneath a deluge of hate rhetoric around gun control.

America is first and foremost a democracy, and one of the key ways that these so-called bots could influence voting is when politicians see the content being shared virally and think that the tide of public opinion is turning in a specific way when in fact the virality of the post is artificially inflated. These bots could effectively put pressure on elected officials to vote in a different way, and also impact whether or not individuals reached out to their government during election times and beyond.

With a recent PBS study showing that nearly 30 percent of Americans have been deceived by a news bot, there’s a good possibility that Facebook is truly influencing elections at various levels of government.

As if the bots and lack of visibility to conservative topics and accounts isn’t enough, Facebook is proactively blocked business pages for no clear reason. The recent message to Oregon’s OFF business page mediators was to note that You recently posted something that violates Facebook policies, so you’re temporarily blocked from using this feature. For more information, visit the Help Center.” No information about how to reactivate the account and allow it to post, and the Help Center provided no guidance. In essence, Facebook arbitrarily shut down OFF’s access to their constituents with this measure — with absolutely no options for restarting the conversation.

With Facebook already facing scandal in the form of un-approved data mining, this latest travesty truly shows that the social media giant exists only to rake in advertising dollars and promote the liberal agenda — and protecting the Second Amendment gun rights are definitely not on their agenda!
