The Gun Owners of America just recently announced a brand new convention. It’s called the Gun-A-Thon, and it promises to be unlike any other gun convention around.
The event will take place April 25, 2020 in Northern Virginia at the Silver Eagle Group Shooting Range in Ashburn. It’s close to the D.C. area, so it will be very easy to attend if you want to fly into Washington Dulles International Airport and stay overnight at one of the hotels in the area.
Let’s look at some of the details of the Gun-A-Thon that attendees can look forward to experiencing.
Displaying New Goods
Many different gun companies will be in attendance to showcase and preview their latest guns and gear. Since this is the first annual Gun-A-Thon put on by the Gun Owners of America, they are going to great lengths to make sure that the 10,000 square foot event area is stocked with interesting exhibits and displays. You’ll get to preview some items that aren’t even available to the public yet.
Second Amendment Speakers and Stars
There will be a variety of different people speaking throughout the event. Some of those include Jon Patton of the Gun Collective podcast, Kevin Dixie who is a firearms expert and trainer, Cheryl Todd of Gun Freedom Radio, and Maj Toure of Black Guns Matter.
There will also be a chance to meet and get autographs from popular celebrities in the firearms world like Eric Blandford, Hank Strange, and Jason David Frank who was the Green Power Ranger on television and is also a professional mixed martial artist. More speakers and attendees will be announced as the event gets closer.
A Chance to Shoot Different Weapons
Since the event will take place at a popular shooting-range that has 33 lanes, it’s going to be an easy place to try out some different weapons that you might not have shot before. The range itself is one of the best in the country with a luxury lounge, classroom space, a gun shop, and indoor training platform with running man targets. Trust us, you’ve never been to such a well appointed shooting-range like this one before!
Even without the event going on, this range is definitely worth making a special trip to if you are going to be around the D.C. area anytime soon.
Food Trucks and More Fun
There will be lots of food to sample from different food trucks, door prizes, and other giveaways. There is even a chance to win some actual firearms at this event.
You can purchase your tickets early and online at www.gunathon.com for this all day event. It will start at 10 am, and run through 6 pm. General admission is $50, but you can also purchase a ticket to attend the pre-event dinner the night before for $100. There is also a special VIP ticket for $1,000 which gives you green room access to the stars and speakers during the day.
The proceeds from the convention will go towards the efforts the Gun Owners of America need for their initiatives defending our country’s Second Amendment rights. They hope to make this a yearly event that will be a unique one for gun lovers to look forward to.
