Arizona Governor Signs Bill to Oppose New Federal Gun Control Laws

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey signed a bill on Tuesday to oppose the state’s law enforcement from enforcing federal gun control laws that violate the Second Amendment. The governor and the GOP-controlled state legislature have pursued the measure to prevent suggested gun control orders from President Joe Biden or Democrats in Washington.

The text of HB 211 reads, “The state of Arizona and its political subdivisions are prohibited from utilizing any financial resources or state personnel to administer, cooperate with or enforce any law, act, order, rule, treaty or regulation of the federal government that is inconsistent with any law of this state regarding the regulation of firearms.”

Opponents argue the new law will undermine the rule of law regarding firearms, calling it an unconstitutional measure. But these opponents may have forgotten the Second Amendment clearly states, “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

What part of “shall not be infringed” would be unconstitutional under the Arizona governor’s measure? The only thing unconstitutional would be any federal attempt to rescind Ducey’s gun protection measure.

Biden has continued to push for a restoration of the assault weapons ban. “I got that done as a senator. It brought down mass shootings, we can do it again,” Biden said during remarks at the White House. “We can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country once again.”

The House has already passed two new gun control laws in 2021. The first one includes 10 days for a background check instead of three. The other expands background checks for guns purchased online, at gun shows or through private purchases.

Arizona is not alone in its new gun protection law. Alaska, Idaho, Kansas and Wyoming have already passed similar measures. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is also endorsing a bill that would make his state a Second Amendment Sanctuary State.

One interesting side effect of the Biden administration’s gun control threats includes the acceleration of gun and ammunition sales. More than two million firearms were sold in America in January, a 75 percent increase over 2020.

If American needs an income boost, they could simply add a firearm background check tax and nearly offset the national debt (Ok, not quite, but it would help.). Arizona’s governor has recognized something Democrats have not. You don’t mess with the Second Amendment.

For many Americans, priorities stand in the following order: God, guns, government. Government is important, but faith and firearms are sacred items you don’t touch. Whenever Democrats have attacked religious freedoms and gun rights, they have failed in future elections.

Let’s hope the trend continues. The House is dangerously close to flipping red in 2022. If so, Americans can fire Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker and begin to undo some of the damage of the Biden administration. If all goes well, Arizona won’t even have to enforce its new firearm protection law to get the job done.

  1. While I believe that our government has every right to know who should be legally permitted to own a gun, I do not believe that they have a right to know about every gun every citizen owns. I would have no problem passing a background check, but never bothered with one because I’ve never bought a firearm. Congress, if they want to know who owns what guns, should go back to their responsibilities laid out in Article I, Section 8, where it says that Congress shall have the power “to provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States.” Based on this clause, Congress should provide a firearm to every American citizen that wants one, as long as they go through the training, testing, and background check provided by Congress. They can keep track of the one they give me, but they should not have a right to know if I buy more from other sources.

  2. biden told everyonethat he was goin to come after our guns but those who voted for him had their heads stuck so far up their asses that they didn’t pay attention to what he was sayin they just wanted to get trump out now they will reap what they sew

  3. The DNC is a criminal organization, they don’t care about saving lives, if they did, they’d stop murdering helpless defenseless infants, and selling their body parts! The DNC wants complete control of citizens by having us left vulnerable! The DNC is in power, and the shootings begin again, know why? They are behind the shootings, just to justify gun confiscation, they think!
Never give up your guns without taking a few of them with you! Democrats are the reason we need to keep and bear arms, they ignore the Constitution unless it helps them! Now those disgusting people at the DNC want to stack the Supreme Court, they already cheat in elections, and they want to stay in power for ever! Treasonous DNC Congressional politicians are trying to destroy our homeland!
