While politicians at the national level continue pursuing their fantasy of creating a country-wide registry for firearms, local lawmakers continue to pile more regulations onto their gun-loving constituents. This is both an inconvenience as well as an attack on our Second Amendment freedoms, but such laws are often not unavoidable.
Many gun owners who are new to the scene may be under the impression that they have to register their firearms — semi-automatic rifles in particular — with their state’s government. This is especially true in California, where politicians are trying to stamp out all remnants of gun culture from existence. The truth, however, is that you have more options that gun grabbers don’t want you to know about.
There are a lot of reasons to avoid registering your firearms beyond the simple fact that you shouldn’t have to do so in the first place. However, you still need to now the ins and outs of your local laws if you want to continue enjoying your firearms.
